Saheeh International

1. إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

   This is not but the custom of the former peoples,

   الشعراء ১৩৭

2. وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ

   And we are not to be punished."

   الشعراء ১৩৮

3. فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

   And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.

   الشعراء ১৩৯

4. وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

   And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.

   الشعراء ১৪০

5. كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

   Thamūd denied the messengers

   الشعراء ১৪১

6. إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَـٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

   When their brother Ṣāliḥ said to them, "Will you not fear Allāh?

   الشعراء ১৪২

7. إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ

   Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.

   الشعراء ১৪৩

8. فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

   So fear Allāh and obey me.

   الشعراء ১৪৪

9. وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

   And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.

   الشعراء ১৪৫

10. أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَـٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ

    Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death],

    الشعراء ১৪৬

11. فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ

    Within gardens and springs

    الشعراء ১৪৭

12. وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ

    And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit?

    الشعراء ১৪৮

13. وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَـٰرِهِينَ

    And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill.

    الشعراء ১৪৯

14. فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

    So fear Allāh and obey me.

    الشعراء ১৫০

15. وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ

    And do not obey the order of the transgressors,

    الشعراء ১৫১

16. ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ

    Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend."

    الشعراء ১৫২

17. قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ

    They said, "You are only of those affected by magic.

    الشعراء ১৫৩

18. مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

    You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful."

    الشعراء ১৫৪

19. قَالَ هَـٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ

    He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day.

    الشعراء ১৫৫

20. وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

    And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day."

    الشعراء ১৫৬

21. فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَـٰدِمِينَ

    But they hamstrung her and so became regretful.

    الشعراء ১৫৭

22. فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

    And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.

    الشعراء ১৫৮

23. وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

    And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.

    الشعراء ১৫৯
