Saheeh International

1. فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمْ شَفَـٰعَةُ ٱلشَّـٰفِعِينَ

   So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors.

   المدثر ٤٨

2. فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلتَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ

   Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away.

   المدثر ٤٩

3. كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌ

   As if they were alarmed donkeys.

   المدثر ٥٠

4. فَرَّتْ مِن قَسْوَرَةٍۭ

   Fleeing from a lion?

   المدثر ٥١

5. بَلْ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُؤْتَىٰ صُحُفًا مُّنَشَّرَةً

   Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about.

   المدثر ٥٢

6. كَلَّا ۖ بَل لَّا يَخَافُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ

   No! But they do not fear the Hereafter.

   المدثر ٥٣

7. كَلَّآ إِنَّهُۥ تَذْكِرَةٌ

   No! Indeed, it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is a reminder.

   المدثر ٥٤

8. فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ

   Then whoever wills will remember it.

   المدثر ٥٥

9. وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ هُوَ أَهْلُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَأَهْلُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ

   And they will not remember except that Allāh wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness.

   المدثر ٥٦

10. لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ

    I swear by the Day of Resurrection

    القيامة ١

11. وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ

    And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection].

    القيامة ٢

12. أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ

    Does man think that We will not assemble his bones?

    القيامة ٣

13. بَلَىٰ قَـٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ

    Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips.

    القيامة ٤

14. بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ

    But man desires to continue in sin.

    القيامة ٥

15. يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ

    He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?"

    القيامة ٦

16. فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ

    So when vision is dazzled.

    القيامة ٧

17. وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ

    And the moon darkens.

    القيامة ٨

18. وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ

    And the sun and the moon are joined,

    القيامة ٩

19. يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ

    Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?"

    القيامة ١٠

20. كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ

    No! There is no refuge.

    القيامة ١١

21. إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ

    To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence.

    القيامة ١٢

22. يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ

    Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back.

    القيامة ١٣

23. بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌ

    Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness,

    القيامة ١٤

24. وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ

    Even if he presents his excuses.

    القيامة ١٥

25. لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ

    Move not your tongue with it, [O Muḥammad], to hasten with it [i.e., recitation of the Qur’ān].

    القيامة ١٦

26. إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ

    Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation.

    القيامة ١٧

27. فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَـٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ

    So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation.

    القيامة ١٨

28. ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ

    Then upon Us is its clarification [to you].
