Saheeh International

1. كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ

   No! But you [i.e., mankind] love the immediate

   القيامة ٢٠

2. وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ

   And leave [i.e., neglect] the Hereafter.

   القيامة ٢١

3. وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ

   [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant,

   القيامة ٢٢

4. إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ

   Looking at their Lord.

   القيامة ٢٣

5. وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌ

   And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted,

   القيامة ٢٤

6. تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ

   Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking.

   القيامة ٢٥

7. كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ

   No! When it [i.e., the soul] has reached the collar bones

   القيامة ٢٦

8. وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍ

   And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?"

   القيامة ٢٧

9. وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ

   And he [i.e., the dying one] is certain that it is the [time of] separation

   القيامة ٢٨

10. وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ

    And the leg is wound about the leg,

    القيامة ٢٩

11. إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ

    To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession.

    القيامة ٣٠

12. فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ

    And he [i.e., the disbeliever] had not believed, nor had he prayed.

    القيامة ٣١

13. وَلَـٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ

    But [instead], he denied and turned away.

    القيامة ٣٢

14. ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ

    And then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride].

    القيامة ٣٣

15. أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ

    Woe to you, and woe!

    القيامة ٣٤

16. ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ

    Then woe to you, and woe!

    القيامة ٣٥

17. أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى

    Does man think that he will be left neglected?

    القيامة ٣٦

18. أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِىٍّ يُمْنَىٰ

    Had he not been a sperm from semen emitted?

    القيامة ٣٧

19. ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ

    Then he was a clinging clot, and [Allāh] created [his form] and proportioned [him]

    القيامة ٣٨

20. فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ

    And made of him two mates, the male and the female.

    القيامة ٣٩

21. أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْـِۧىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ

    Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead?

    القيامة ٤٠

22. هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْإِنسَـٰنِ حِينٌ مِّنَ ٱلدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْـًٔا مَّذْكُورًا

    Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned?

    الانسان ١

23. إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًا

    Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing.

    الانسان ٢

24. إِنَّا هَدَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا

    Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful.

    الانسان ٣

25. إِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ سَلَـٰسِلَا۟ وَأَغْلَـٰلًا وَسَعِيرًا

    Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains and shackles and a blaze.

    الانسان ٤

26. إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا

    Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kāfūr,

    الانسان ٥
