Saheeh International

1. وَجِا۟ىٓءَ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ

   And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but how [i.e., what good] to him will be the remembrance?

   الفجر ٢٣

2. يَقُولُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِى

   He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life."

   الفجر ٢٤

3. فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ

   So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment,

   الفجر ٢٥

4. وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ

   And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers].

   الفجر ٢٦

5. يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفْسُ ٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ

   [To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul,

   الفجر ٢٧

6. ٱرْجِعِىٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً

   Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him],

   الفجر ٢٨

7. فَٱدْخُلِى فِى عِبَـٰدِى

   And enter among My [righteous] servants

   الفجر ٢٩

8. وَٱدْخُلِى جَنَّتِى

   And enter My Paradise."

   الفجر ٣٠

9. لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ

   I swear by this city [i.e., Makkah]

   البلد ١

10. وَأَنتَ حِلٌّۢ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ

    And you, [O Muḥammad], are free of restriction in this city

    البلد ٢

11. وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ

    And [by] the father and that which was born [of him],

    البلد ٣

12. لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ فِى كَبَدٍ

    We have certainly created man into hardship.

    البلد ٤

13. أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ

    Does he think that never will anyone overcome him?

    البلد ٥

14. يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُّبَدًا

    He says, "I have spent wealth in abundance."

    البلد ٦

15. أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّمْ يَرَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ

    Does he think that no one has seen him?

    البلد ٧

16. أَلَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ عَيْنَيْنِ

    Have We not made for him two eyes?

    البلد ٨

17. وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ

    And a tongue and two lips?

    البلد ٩

18. وَهَدَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلنَّجْدَيْنِ

    And have shown him the two ways?

    البلد ١٠

19. فَلَا ٱقْتَحَمَ ٱلْعَقَبَةَ

    But he has not broken through the difficult pass.

    البلد ١١

20. وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْعَقَبَةُ

    And what can make you know what is [breaking through] the difficult pass?

    البلد ١٢

21. فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ

    It is the freeing of a slave

    البلد ١٣

22. أَوْ إِطْعَـٰمٌ فِى يَوْمٍ ذِى مَسْغَبَةٍ

    Or feeding on a day of severe hunger

    البلد ١٤

23. يَتِيمًا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ

    An orphan of near relationship

    البلد ١٥

24. أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ

    Or a needy person in misery

    البلد ١٦

25. ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْمَرْحَمَةِ

    And then being among those who believed and advised one another to patience and advised one another to compassion.

    البلد ١٧

26. أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ

    Those are the companions of the right.

    البلد ١٨
