Saheeh International

1. أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ

   Have you seen if he denies and turns away -

   العلق ١٣

2. أَلَمْ يَعْلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرَىٰ

   Does he not know that Allāh sees?

   العلق ١٤

3. كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًۢا بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِ

   No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock

   العلق ١٥

4. نَاصِيَةٍ كَـٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ

   A lying, sinning forelock.

   العلق ١٦

5. فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُۥ

   Then let him call his associates;

   العلق ١٧

6. سَنَدْعُ ٱلزَّبَانِيَةَ

   We will call the angels of Hell.

   العلق ١٨

7. كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَٱسْجُدْ وَٱقْتَرِب ۩

   No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allāh].

   العلق ١٩

8. إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةِ ٱلْقَدْرِ

   Indeed, We sent it [i.e., the Qur’ān] down during the Night of Decree.

   القدر ١

9. وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ

   And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?

   القدر ٢

10. لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ

    The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.

    القدر ٣

11. تَنَزَّلُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ

    The angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.

    القدر ٤

12. سَلَـٰمٌ هِىَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ ٱلْفَجْرِ

    Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.

    القدر ٥

13. لَمْ يَكُنِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ مُنفَكِّينَ حَتَّىٰ تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ

    Those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists were not to be parted [from misbelief] until there came to them clear evidence

    البينة ١

14. رَسُولٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ يَتْلُوا۟ صُحُفًا مُّطَهَّرَةً

    A Messenger from Allāh, reciting purified scriptures

    البينة ٢

15. فِيهَا كُتُبٌ قَيِّمَةٌ

    Within which are correct writings [i.e., rulings and laws].

    البينة ٣

16. وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ

    Nor did those who were given the Scripture become divided until after there had come to them clear evidence.

    البينة ٤

17. وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ حُنَفَآءَ وَيُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ دِينُ ٱلْقَيِّمَةِ

    And they were not commanded except to worship Allāh, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakāh. And that is the correct religion.

    البينة ٥
