Saheeh International

1. وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا هُمْ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ

   But they who disbelieved in Our signs - those are the companions of the left.

   البلد ١٩

2. عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُّؤْصَدَةٌۢ

   Over them will be fire closed in.

   البلد ٢٠

3. وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا

   By the sun and its brightness

   الشمس ١

4. وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا

   And [by] the moon when it follows it

   الشمس ٢

5. وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا

   And [by] the day when it displays it

   الشمس ٣

6. وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا

   And [by] the night when it covers [i.e., conceals] it

   الشمس ٤

7. وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا

   And [by] the sky and He who constructed it

   الشمس ٥

8. وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا

   And [by] the earth and He who spread it

   الشمس ٦

9. وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا

   And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it

   الشمس ٧

10. فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا

    And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness,

    الشمس ٨

11. قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا

    He has succeeded who purifies it,

    الشمس ٩

12. وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا

    And he has failed who instills it [with corruption].

    الشمس ١٠

13. كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ

    Thamūd denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression,

    الشمس ١١

14. إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا

    When the most wretched of them was sent forth.

    الشمس ١٢

15. فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَـٰهَا

    And the messenger of Allāh [i.e., Ṣāliḥ] said to them, "[Do not harm] the she-camel of Allāh or [prevent her from] her drink."

    الشمس ١٣

16. فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا

    But they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them].

    الشمس ١٤

17. وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَـٰهَا

    And He does not fear the consequence thereof.

    الشمس ١٥

18. وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ

    By the night when it covers

    الليل ١

19. وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ

    And [by] the day when it appears

    الليل ٢

20. وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ

    And [by] He who created the male and female,

    الليل ٣

21. إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ

    Indeed, your efforts are diverse.

    الليل ٤

22. فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ

    As for he who gives and fears Allāh

    الليل ٥

23. وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ

    And believes in the best [reward],

    الليل ٦

24. فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ

    We will ease him toward ease.

    الليل ٧

25. وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ

    But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need

    الليل ٨

26. وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ

    And denies the best [reward],

    الليل ٩
